“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to or God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.”(Psalm 40:1-3, emphasis mine)
God seeks to put a new song in the mouths of many; a song of victory and praise in lieu of heartache. Out of love, God seeks to touch countless lives with mercy, grace, favor, restoration, and breakthroughs beyond reckon. It’s awesome when God steps in and does the seemingly impossible. Those touched by God’s abundant love cannot help but to sing praises unto Him, the maker of new songs.
If God has placed a new song in your mouth, do not allow anyone or any thing to snatch it away from you. Keep honoring, worshiping, and praising the Lord for your deliverance, breakthrough, and blessings. Adhere to Psalm 13:6, “I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me” and Psalm 146:2, “I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” Keep singing unto God the new song He has placed in your heart and mouth.
When God turns your wailing into dancing, removes your affliction and grants you favor, you can’t help but to speak of the Lord’s goodness. It’s virtually impossible to keep quiet when God’s Spirit within you is bubbling over with thanksgiving, praise and reverence. If you desire to raise your hands and voice in worship, praise, and thankfulness to God, do not hold back, do it! As you reveal God’s greatness in your life, others may put their trust in Him as well.
I have a bookmark that reads, “A person with a thankful heart is one who’s had an experience with the Lord Jesus Christ that has absolutely transformed their life.” It’s a quote from Dr. Charles Stanley. It is true! Next time you are in church and witness someone with hands lifted high, worshipping, and praising God chances are they had a divine encounter with Christ. Most likely God lifted them up and gave them a firm place on which to stand.
If you have been trusting in God to place a new song in your heart, continue to give thanks and praise unto Him during your wait. Faith, thanksgiving, and praise will allow God the opportunity to work on the sweet melodies that will produce your victory song. Draw close to God. He will protect you from trouble and surround you with songs of deliverance. When God does a new thing in your life, you will burst out with a triumphant new song, too.
Father God, I praise You for all that You have done in my life and those around me. Thank You for past deliverances and future victories as well. Continuously fine-tune my life with your goodness. I seek to sing praises unto You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen
